Listing types: different fields for different kinds of listing
Listing types: different fields for different kinds of listing
Give the different kinds of listing in your directory their own fields, categories, filters and page content. A dog supplies directory can have Dog Food with age group and flavour, and Dog Apparel with size and material, side by side. Most directories only need one type, and nothing changes until you add a second.
What you can build
Any directory where one set of fields doesn’t fit everything, such as a pet shop directory with food and clothing side by side.
Listing types
-
Add types under Listings → Listing Types. Each type has its own name, slug and description
-
Choose which custom fields each type uses. Shared fields like Price work across every type
-
Optionally limit which categories a type’s listings can use
-
Duplicate a type to start a new one from it, handy for sub types
-
One type is the default for new listings
-
Plan limits: Starter 1, Growth 2, Pro unlimited

Editing and submitting listings
-
Pick a listing’s type at the top of the editor, and only its fields show
-
Switching type never loses data: hidden values come back if you switch back
-
The submit listing form has a layout per type, and visitors choose the type first
-
Choose which types visitors can submit

On your site
-
Detail page blocks only show the fields a listing’s type uses
-
New “Show for listing types” block: content that only appears on some types, such as a sizing guide on apparel
-
Cards show each type’s own fields, with per-type overrides in the card settings
-
Style each type with CSS: cards and listing pages carry a
listing-type-class
Conditional content block:

Card overrides:

Smarter filters
-
Filter by listing type, and limit listing grids to certain types
-
Adaptive filters: as visitors drill down, filters without matches are hidden
-
Start with fewer filters: show a few key filters first, then the rest appear once visitors start filtering

Import, export and AI
-
CSV import and export include each listing’s type
-
The API and MCP can manage types, and AI assistants know types are optional
-
Duplicating a site copies its listing types
Also new
-
Filters along the top: the review rating filter is now a dropdown showing e.g. “4+”, and the sort label sits inline
-
Fixed: Items Per Page on listing grids now takes effect
-
Number fields show their prefix and suffix, such as £, in the details table and the custom fields grid
