Reviews

Big update! We've just added support for reviews. Here's an overview, documentation to follow soon.

Main content area:

Sidebar:

  • Review field type - attach ratings to any listing; customise the summary and count labels.

  • Site-level review settings (Reviews → Settings):

    • Who can review — open to anyone (anonymous), restricted to logged-in users, or limited to specific user roles.

    • Approval — publish reviews instantly (auto-approve) or hold every submission for moderation.

    • Review input — stars-only or stars + written review, with optional required text and min/max length.

  • Two highly configurable display blocks:

    • Reviews (detail page main) — the full, paginated review list with summary and submission form.

    • Review Overview (sidebar) — a compact rating card; "Read reviews" opens the full list in a pop-up.

    • Per block you can: pick which review field to show, set the title (or hide it), choose page size, toggle a full per-star distribution vs just the average/stars/count, set how long review text is before it collapses, and limit how many reviews logged-out visitors see before a sign-up prompt (e.g. show 3, then prompt — or 0 to show only the prompt). Both blocks can also be placed inside a Restricted Content area to gate reviews behind access rules.

  • Ratings across your site — show ratings on listing cards, and sort/filter an Item List by highest rated, most reviews, etc.

  • Moderation (Reviews → Submissions) — approve, reject, delete, and reply, with a pending-count badge. Verified listing owners can manage reviews on their own listings.

  • Built-in safeguards — spam honeypot, one-review-per-visitor (anonymous or logged-in), and automatic rating summaries (average + per-star distribution) computed from approved reviews only.

New sidebar layout block & promo card block

We've introduced a new block: sidebar layout block. This block allows additional blocks to be nested within in, rendering the contents in two columns as follows:

We've introduced 'promo card block' too. This is mostly to be used in conjunction with the above, and can be used to link out to sponsors etc as shown below. It can also be added to the detail page.

Block categories

It was getting a little difficult to find blocks since we've added quite a few. Now, blocks are separated into categories & we've added a search bar and cat pills:

Added setup guide that shows when creating a new site

Videos on pages

You can now add videos to pages and acategories as well as items, to do so , use the 'video embed block'.

New block area - header right

We've added a new block area, allowing you to add blocks to the right of the header bar, just to the left of the menu.

Only one block for now 'header search block' which allows you to add a search input alongside the menu.

Updated accordion block

A bit overdue, but accordion block entries can now be re-ordered.

Paid submissions and claims can be prioritized

In claim and submit listing settings area you should now see a toggle like:

This allows you to move paid items to the top of any list blocks you add.

Support for map based directories & new blocks

We've shipped a big batch of map work - from the create-site wizard, to category pages, to two new blocks. If you're building a location-led directory, please read on.

New: pick your map shape in the wizard

When you choose Map as your layout in the create-site wizard, you now get one extra question - How should visitors explore the map? This provides four ready-made shapes to choose from:

  • One map of everything - a single searchable map on the homepage, plus content, browse-by-category stripes, and an About page

  • Browse by location first - same homepage, but the lead block is a Location Explorer (country → city → map) instead of the full map

  • Landing page + map page - a marketing-style homepage built around a guided search panel; the map lives on its own page and the panel takes visitors there with their filters pre-applied.

  • A map page per category - per-category cards, featured listings, and Map + Index category pages so every top-level category has its own map view.

All four require google map keys which are requested on set up, if using the wizard or can be added to the new integrations page if not.

New: Category page display

A new project-wide toggle on the Categories page lets every category render either as:

  • List (default) - the familiar paginated grid of listing cards.

  • Map + index - a full-width Item Map of the category's listings followed by a paginated, SEO-friendly Item Index beneath.

Map + Index is hidden unless your project has Google Maps configured and an address field with geocoding enabled.

New block: Item Index

A minimal, paginated A–Z grid of listings - title and intro only, four columns by default. No filters, no search, no sort UI. Designed for SEO indexability with ?page=N pagination URLs that crawlers can follow. Pair it with an Item Map to give visitors visual exploration and search engines crawlable structure on the same page.

🚀 Improved: Item Map

  • Now available on category pages (top and bottom areas) in addition to the homepage, custom pages, and section blocks.

  • Plays nicely with the new Category Page Display setting
